Brendon Gibbens

Brendon Gibbens was born on June 10, 1991 in Hamburg, Germany, to South African parents. Returning as a child to live in Cape Town, Brendon began his athletic career as a swimming champion but after taking up surfing as a teenager swimming took a backseat and his surf career took off. Brendon had a short stint on the WQS, but his heart was in free-surfing. When he wasn’t grinding it out on the QS or hitting massive ramps into cross shore winds at any given South African wave, he was busy filming and editing his own surf clips – clips that would eventually catch the surf worlds eye. Within a few short years Brendon’s style and ability has made him one of the most well known and respected surfers to come from South Africa.
