CJ Hobgood

C.J. Hobgood was born July 6, 1979 in Melbourne, Florida. C.J. entered his first surfing contest in 1989, making the Open Boys final, placing second in a national competition the following year, and winning several other championships. In 1998 he was selected as the model for the new National Scholastic Surfing Association logo. In 1999, CJ joined the tour and was named the Association of Surfing Professionals Rookie of the Year. In 2001 CJ went on to become then-ASP World Champion. In 2007, CJ claimed victory at the US Open of Surfing, and in 2008 won the O'Neill World Cup of Surfing at Sunset Beach - Part of the Van's Triple Crown of Surfing, placing him among the uppermost elite competitive surfers of the last three decades. In addition to competitive surfing, CJ is a free surfer with a love for having appeared in or helped produce Noah's Ark, The Outsiders, Down the Barrel, Inaugural Hobgood Challenge, and Somewhere, Anywhere, Everywhere.
