Damien Hobgood

Damien Hobgood

Damien Hobgood was born July 6, 1979 in Melbourne Beach, Florida. The twin brother of C.J., the Florida goofy-foot has been one of surfing’s most consistently dangerous competitors on both the QS and WCT for nearly two decades, earning the Rookie of the Year award in 2000. Damien notably defeated world champion Andy Irons in the Quiksilver Pro Fiji in 2004, and went on to win The Globe WCT Fiji in 2006. Damien’s score at the Quiksilver Pro Fiji was the then-highest two-wave grand final score in pro surfing – a 19.9 out of 20 until eclipsed by Kelly Slater the following year at Teahupo'o in his perfect-20 final finish. Damien continues his presence on the tour, while also traveling extensively to freesurf and film.
